Scenic SwimBarcelona – Es Espectacular!

Spread the love

In 2003 the world’s elite had a tremendously competitive world championship race in Barcelona in an eye-catching urban setting.

The men’s 25 km race was particularly close where race officials took nearly an hour to determine the gold, silver and bronze medalists in a photo finish between Petar Stoychev, David Meca and Yuri Kudinov.

On September 9th, starting at what is called one of the world’s best urban beaches, non-elites will also be able to trace the course used by the Olympians and world champions. The II SwimBarcelona event offers swimmers an impressive view of the Barcelona coastline throughout the swim.

The 5.7 km and 3.6 km between the Barceloneta beach and the Forum harbour provide views of such landmark buildings as the vela hotel, and the 1992 Olympic Village.
