

After winning the prestigious Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award from the Government of India this January, 26-year-old Sayani Das (MSF bio here) is on her way to Spain to cross the Strait of Gibraltar which would be her sixth of the Oceans Seven channels.
She started her Oceans Seven journey in 2017 as a 19-year-old with a 14 hour 8 minute crossing of the English Channel. She followed up with the Catalina Channel in 12 hours 46 minutes in 2019, the Molokai Channel in 18 hours 50 minutes in 2022, the Cook Strait in 11 hours 47 minutes in 2024, and the North Channel in 13 hours 22 minutes in 2024 [shown below with escort pilot Quinton Nelson].
