In order to prepare for their upcoming Antarctic swim, South Africans Toks Viviers, Andrew Chin, Ryan Stramrood, Kieron Palframan, Gavin Pike and Ram Barkai are training hard.

“We are doing sea swimming in colder temperatures and doing a cold ice baths,” explains Barkai. “We are sponsored by a big fish factory and they use salt ice. They can take us down to -2ºC in 11 minutes. It is interesting and get us used to it mentally.”
