
The Gar Woods Grill & Pier in Lake Tahoe, California hosted its 25th annual Polar Bear Swim in the high-altitude, low-temperature Lake Tahoe in Carnelian Bay as part of the annual North Lake Tahoe SnowFest.
The 250-yard Gar Woods Polar Bear Swim drew a boisterous crowd. At an altitude of 6,229 feet (1,898m), water temperatures below 40°C (4°C) felt especially cool.
Brittany Percin of Truckee, Nevada defended her overall title again in 2014.
