Ross Edgley (39, Great Britain @rossedgley) knew he was into a handful before he started The Great Icelandic Swim, his assisted 1,600 km stage swim around Iceland.
Now that Edgley is en route from his start in Reykjavik, he and his crew with videographer and observer Benjamin Marshall, First Mate Maisie Bristow, and Skipper Jacob Carter with documentation coordinator Ger Kennedy on dryland, absolutely know they are in for a brutal match over the next 100 or so day, zigzagging their way over the first two days.

Kennedy reported that the first week’s water temperature will be between 6 and 7°C.
The location of the escort boat, SKIRR Adventures, is posted and updated here and here.
