Outreaching The Competition

Spread the love

The crowds and media were treated to a fantastic finish at the La Patagones Viedma FINA 10KM Marathon Swimming World Cup a few weeks ago. As usual, the race came right down to the finish between the top competitors.

This time, Angela Maurer of Germany (2:03:34) just out-touched second-place Karla Šitić of Croatia (2:03:34) and American Eva Fabian (2:03:35) in the Río Negro River.

We love the mano-a-mano battles between the top marathon swimmers – this excitement is always a thrill to watch. In this photo courtesy of Eva, the experience of Angela Maurer is clearly seen as her reach to the finish (closest to the camera) is classic – nearly at the perfect angle and with outstanding timing.
