Open Water Swim Club Taper Workout

The Open Water Swim Club sent off one of its youngest members, Lexie Kelly, to the three FINA Open Water Swimming Grand Prix races in Argentina with a short 6000-yard workout in a 25-yard pool as part of her final taper.

After a warm-up and before a long pulling set, the main set as part of her taper for the upcoming 160 km of racing (done over a 14-day period in rivers in Argentina) was as follows:

6 x 125 (last lap non-freestyle) @ 1:45 + 6 x 125 @ 1:30
6 x 100 (last lap non-freestyle) @ 1:20 + 6 x 100 @ 1:10
6 x 75 (last lap non-freestyle) @ 1:00 + 6 x 75 @ :55
6 x 50 (last lap non-freestyle) @ :40 + 6 x 50 @ :35
