Olympic Marathon Swimming In Italian

Italian Olympic marathon swimmers in 2012 include two serious medal contenders who will be fighting for positions on the podium from the start to the finish: 2-time world marathon swimming champion Valerio Cleri who finished fourth in the 2008 Beijing Olympics marathon swim and the 2010 world 10km champion Martina Grimaldi. They are both hard-nosed, savvy competitors with years of hard training and experience behind them.

Italian swimmers who are in the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame include Lello Barbuto (inducted 1992), Paolo “The Crocodile” Donaggio (inducted 1980), Enrico Tiraboschi (inducted 1971) and Giulio Travaglio (inducted 1966).
