After all the turmoil of organizing the Tokyo Olympic qualification events in Japan during 2021, the Olympic 10 km Marathon Swimming Qualification Race scheduled to be held in Fukuoka, Japan was cancelled. FINA announced the pressure-packed race that will determine the final 14 athletes for the Olympic marathon swim is rescheduled to Setúbal Bay in Portugal on June 19th – 20th.

This means that Olympic dreams will be realized – and dashed – in Setúbal Bay just like they were in 2012 and 2016. the Summer Olympic Games.
