At this year’s Clinton Global Initiative, the Ocean Recovery Alliance revealed Global Alert, its new online tool to help communities report and rate plastic pollution in their local rivers and waterways. The result is that people can now visualize the floating trash problem. The Ocean Recovery Alliance also showcased the Plastic Disclosure Project, an effort for organizations to measure, track and manage their plastic use in the same way carbon dioxide emissions are monitored. The Plastic Disclosure Project will publicly unveil its content next month.
