From the days of Johnny Weissmuller to the era of Michael Phelps, American swimmers have frequently risen to the occasion at the Olympics. Over 60% of the athletes do their lifetime bests in the most pressure-packed swim meet of their lives.

How do these athletes handle this pressure?
