Ned Denison traveled to California to accept his International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame recognition as an Honour Administrator.

But he could not just fly over from Ireland to California without swimming up and down the coast of California and also hopping in the Catalina Channel. He started his channel crossing last night and should finish up soon. Then he gets dressed and will be honored at the Global Open Water Swimming Conference on Saturday.

Note: Denison finished in 8 hours 50 minutes to join the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming. According to Forrest Nelson, “There were brilliant conditions and pleasant water temperatures. Ned swam strong every stroke of the way under the watcher observer eyes of Barbara Held and Evan Morrison.”
