Mohammad Kobadi Begins 1000K Swim In The Persian Gulf

Mohammad Kobadi is a 34-year-old open water swimmer and coach began his unprecedented 1000K marathon swim across the Persian Gulf today.

Kobadi is attempting an unassisted stage swim in the Persian Gulf from the Strait of Hormuz to Arvand Kenar along the coast of Iran. Kobadi (2nd from right in photo) and his team are expected to be en route for 100 days as he is assisted by wetsuits, fins and paddles.
