You gotta like this race: no wetsuits, no shoes, no entry fee, no prizes…just glory.

On July 14th, over a 100 lifeguards and other fit individuals will compete in the annual Mega Colossus race in Orange County, California, starting in Newport Beach, passing through Huntington Beach and ending in Bolsa Chica: a total of 8 hard miles of running on the sand with another 3 miles of ocean swimming interspersed between the run legs.

Goggles – check. Swimsuit – check. Go.

See you at the finish to see if anyone can break Marc Rinzler‘s course record of 1 hour and 28 minutes.
