After the 2012 London Olympic Games, each country’s coaches and administrators take stock of the results and then plan again for the next Olympic quadrennial.

While Tunisia (Ous Mellouli, gold), Germany (Thomas Lurz, silver), Canada (Richard Weinberger, bronze), Hungary (Eva Risztov, gold), USA (Haley Anderson, silver), and Italy (Martina Grimaldi, bronze) can build from podium finishes, many other countries are going to re-stock and rebuild.

Hungary looks well-prepared for 2016 with Risztov and Anna Olasz as does the young and emerging German team with its brilliant dominance at the 2012 World Junior Open Water Swimming Championships.

The USA team will also be very dangerous over the next Olympic quadrennial with a young team with significant upside:
