Olympic silver medalist Keri-Anne Payne won the aQuellé Midmar Mile in comfortable fashion after a very fast constant pace of 90 strokes per minute. “She is really getting in good shape,” said Mark Perry, coach of the British national open water team. “She’s been doing some of her best times in workout and is swimming very well.”

Keri-Anne shot out right from the start and had a 20-meter lead at the 400-meter hot spot over teammate and fellow Olympic medalist Cassie Patten who earlier won the 10K race. “They’re looking good,” commented Mark after leading the team to a hard three-week training camp in South Africa.
