Ross Edgley (@rossedgley) came out with a new book and a new documentary film series.

Great Icelandic Swim Documentary Series

His Great Icelandic Swim series include three 60-minute programs that air on Channel 4 in the UK on February 7th, 14th, and 21st. The film series followed his 1,000-mile bi-directional non-continguous, non-consecutive assisted stage swim around Iceland. The series will also be released worldwide later in 2026.

How To Hero

In his new book coming in October 2026, How To Hero: Philosophy Forged In Endurance. How Purpose Reshapes Your Mind And Body, Edgley explores the science, psychology, and history of heroism. He is a hero to millions, an inspiration beyond the waters of the world where he has slogged in seas, oceans, rivers, and lakes to unfathomable distances and duration.

Written during his Great Icelandic Swim when he swam both in the clockwise and counterclockwise directions around the coast of Iceland and where he navigated Arctic storms, active volcanoes, and one of the largest hurricanes ever recorded in the Atlantic. He pens about Nordic mythology, modern neuropsychology,, and his own adventurous, highly risk-tolerant experiences at the edge of human endurance.

How to Hero examines what sustained effort – especially on a multi-month stage swim – does to the human mind and body — how prolonged exposure to hardship reshaped his nervous system, alters his perception of risk and discomfort, and changes who he is – and how we can become.

Ross Edgley lives a life of hugeness – every single day – where he explores unprecedented adventures – many successful, some not – while he always maintains a broad, warm smile augmented by a captivating sense of humor and supported by a seemingly unlimited well of positivity. A unique Broseidon.
