Interisland Swimming In Shonan, Japan

The Shonan Open Water Swimming (湘南オープンウォータースイミング) is one of the largest open water swimming competitions in Japan with 1,312 participants including 374 people who entered the 10 km island-to-island marathon swim.

Held in Kanagawa Prefecture south of Tokyo, the annual event includes a 800m swim, 2.5 km swim, 5 km and 10 km interisland swim from Zushi (逗子) on the main island of Honshu to Enoshima (江の島), a small offshore island in Sagami Bay.

The events include the 10 km marathon swim from Zushi to Enoshima (オープンウォータースイミング10 km), a 2.5 km swim in Zushi Bay, 2.5 km fin swim, and an 800m swim expedition in both Zushi (start) and Enoshima (finish) of the competition.
