Chloe Veltman, an arts and culture reporter with KQED, interviewed Amy Appelhans Gubser, a pediatric nurse from Pacifica, California who was a former Los Angeles County lifeguard and competitive swimmer at the University of Michigan, on Inspiration/Isolation, an interactive audio feature created by KQED, a media company from Northern California.

The Santa Barbara Channel, the Catalina Channel, Strait of Gibraltar, Lake Tahoe, the Farallon Islands (a 34 hour 54 minute relay), S.C.A.R. Swim Challenge, Monterey Bay are just some of the areas where Gubser can get away from the stress of the dryland.
