Swimmers use a variety of equipment, either to train in a pool or enjoy in the open water.
But in King County, Washington, the Council passed a measure to require all swimmers on the county’s rivers to wear life vests. First-time offenders will get a warning; a second violation will mean an $86 fine.
While understandably focused on saving lives and preventing accidents, experienced open water swimmers and triathletes may choose to swim elsewhere as a result.
Just a random thought, but perhaps the new Swim Safety Device can be defined as a type of life vest?
