One of the World’s Top 100 Rivers Swims is the GlommaDyppen that includes the 2 km Loffer’n, the 6 km Elvenøkken, and the 11 km Fløter’n races held in Norway’s longest river Glomma in August.
The swim originated from discussions among and collective vision of Andres Thunheim, Espen Lorentzen, Roar A. Olsen, Silje S. Sætre, and Werner Hålien together with Bjørnar Schau, Dag Rinden, and Thomas Støvind Berg.
The fast-flowing river swim is set amid the timberfloating area of Fetsund Lenser, a national heritage monument, timber floating museum, and nature reserve close to Oslo, Norway.
The organizers have a grandiose vision where they will organize even more races during GlommaDyppen in addition to the 2 km Loffer’n, 6 km Elvenøkken, and 11 km Fløter’n.
