Kwami Kpodoh is the swimming coach at Lincoln Community School in Accra, Ghana with a deep passion for open water swimming.
Coach Kpodoh traveled to South Africa to become a certified FINA official. He wants to do the same in the sport of open water swimming. Like many around the world, he is thirsting for knowledge about all aspects of the sport and we expect we will hear more about this enthusiast from western Africa.
Kpodoh is swimming coach who owns the Albatross Swimming School. “My love for education, children and the water led me to open and operate a swim school,” said the multi-lingual administrator who is also a Royal Life Saving Society UK trained lifeguard and Vice President of Ghana Aquatic Lifesavers.
He has participated in Ghana’s Open Water Swimming Championships on La Pleasure Beach in Accra since 2004 and officiated at Ghana’s 10km Open Water Swimming Championships that selected representatives to participate in the FINA World Junior Open Water Swimming Championships. He also officiated at the Homowo Festival Open Water Swimming Championships at Labadi Pleasure Beach in Accra.
