Although her Olympic dream was crushed by a excruciatingly close defeat in the hands of South African rival Jessica Roux in an Olympic qualifying race, Natalie du Toit made the best of her summer with a follow-up performance with 3 golds and 1 silver medal at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.
With elite pro marathon swims behind her and her athletic retirement looming, du Toit returned to the pool and outperformed her physically disabled peers.
And her future never looked brigher as she received a Chevrolet Captiva LTX from General Motors South Africa.
du Toit will use the Chevrolet Captiva LTZ to drive to the many official sporting and business engagements and motivational speeches she will give in the wake of her success in the Paralympics.
“Natalie has been a Chevrolet brand ambassador for a number of years now and we are excited to be able to continue this relationship with her as she moves on from her medal winning success in swimming competition to a new era in her career as a world class athlete,” says Chevrolet brand manager Tim Hendon. “She adds an element of excitement to an iconic automotive brand in South Africa which we trust will transport her in style as a South African and international sports celebrity.”
