TOWER 26 (@tower_26) is a renowned and popular open water swimming program for triathletes, masters swimmers, and fitness swimmers. Tower 26 is literally a lifeguard tower on the Santa Monica Beach with its workout pool in Pacific Palisades, California.

This last week, TOWER 26 founder Gerry Rodrigues and his teammates, coaches, and friends have been dealing with the homelessness and devastation caused by the Los Angeles wildfires.

Rodrigues hosted a TOWER 26 Be Race Ready podcast on the impact of the Palisades fire, episode #125 where he and co-host Jim Lubinski talk about how the fires impacted TOWER 26 athletes and how to help the athletes and their families.

Listen here to the podcast.

Rodrigues previously wrote, “Many of our Pacific Palisades members have lost their homes during the last 48 hours [due to the devastating fire that has engulfed the area], or knows someone who has. A To Do list from coach Emily Cocks on What To Do When Your Home Burns Down is posted below.

Emily is a former pro triathlete and TOWER 26 coach for the last several years. Emily and her then husband, lost their home in the Atlas fire, Napa County in 2017.  She hosted a group zoom call on January 10th (see updates here for member offerings on rooms, homes, campers, vehicles, animal care, etc.). The outpouring of member support has been extremely generous.
