The joy of finishing an open water race in which you personally work on is like nothing else. While others are focused on their own swim, a man like Frank Flowers is always worried about others.
Will the race get off on time? Are the volunteers in position? Is registration going smoothly? How are the currents? Is everyone safe? Is everyone enjoying themselves? Who won? Is the timing system flawless?
When it all comes together, the relief is total and the joy is immense.
