LONDON. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth issued her New Year’s Honours List for 2011. Michael Read, President of the Channel Swimming Association was named a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his service to swimming.

Congratulations to Michael for a lifetime of achievement and selfless service to the sport of swimming. It has been quite a year for Michael who was also honored by the International Swimming Hall of Fame as a Honor Open Water Swimmer.
