English Channel Swimming Success Rates For 2011

Kevin Murphy announced the certified swims of the Channel Swimming & Piloting Association during the 2011 season:

There was a total of 124 swims (solos + relays) with 87 successful and 37 unsuccessful 37 for a 70% success rate.
Percentage of swims (solo and relay) that were successful = 70%

There was a total of 68 solo swims with 42 successful and 26 unsuccessful swims for a 62% success rate.

There was a total of 56 relays with 45 successful and 11 unsuccessful relays for an 80% success ratio.

Of all the swims ratified by the Channel Swimming & Piloting AssociationChannel Swimming and Piloting Federation, 45% were relays and 55% were solo swims.

Note: these totals do not include the solo swims or relays that are certified by the Channel Swimming Association, a separate organization that also governs swims across the English Channel.
