Davide Lopresti was one of the winners of the 2016 Underwater Photographer of the Year with his wide angle shot at the Swim The Island event in Bergeggi, Italy.

His underwater photo called ‘Swim’ was highly commended by the UPY judges. Lopresti was also recognized as the 2016 Underwater Photographer of the Year.

“I took this picture during the Swim the island, a competition of swimming in the sea, where contestants will compete over a distance of 6 kilometers, making a cirle around the island of Bergeggi in Liguria. The photo was taken during the start, when the group is still compact and have not yet outlined the balance of the race.”
