Dario Verani Win 1st Mediterranean Beach Games

Dario Verani won the 5 km open water swim at the 1st Mediterranean Beach Games in Pescara, Italy yesterday in a 6-second victory over fellow Italian Andrea Manzi.

Verani won in 56:08.2 with Manzi second in 56:14.6 and Greek swimmer Georgios Arniakos third in 56:15.2 and Italian Andrea Bianchi 56:19 in fourth.

The 11-sport Games also includes fin swimming, aquathlon, and a team pursuit 5 km.
