Dan Martin announced yesterday the delay of his unprecedented Global Triathlon due to insurmountable problems with his escort boat.

After years of preparation and fund-raising, the necessary repairs and remaining problems unexpectedly delayed the start of his first leg, a swim across the Atlantic Ocean. With the hurricane season underway in the Atlantic Ocean, a successful and safe crossing was all but impossible.
