One of the most passionate and prolific open water swimmers in Mexico, Christy Guille, passed away last week in Cancun.

Guille
was 77 when she died, but she always swam and smiled. Always, always,
always with a deep passion for the open water.

She swam in open water
swims all over Mexico
,” recalls Fernando Betanzos, a race director from
Cancun. “From Chiapas to Alcapulco, she was always the first person to
register for the swims. She loved the water and even did the 10 km
Cancun to Isla Mujeres swim for many years
.”

She will be sorely missed.
