One day after Poliana Okimoto of Brazil and Christine Jennings of the USA faced off in the 1 km Grid Sprint and sprinted to a hard-fought finish, the two aquatic warriors faced off again in the 7 km Queen of the Sea (Rainha do Mar in Portuguese) on Copacabana Beach. The finish was equally exciting – and ended similarly with Jennings charging very hard up the soft sand to overtake the smaller Brazilian Olympian.
