Vergara is the co-organizer, together with Phil White, Darren Miller, Melissa O’Reilly, Brad McVetta and Janet Kylander Manning, of the first U.S. Winter Swimming Championship in Lake Memphremagog, Vermont in February 2015. The competition is sanctioned by the U.S. Winter Swimming Association.
