The Shonan Open Water Swimming (湘南オープンウォータースイミング) event has been held for 16 years and included a 2.5 km fin swim as well as a 500m and 10 km point-to-point mainland-to-island marathon swim from Zushi (逗子) on the main island of Honshu to Enoshima (江の島), a small offshore island in Sagami Bay, with 468 participants in 2019.
