The 2028 Los Angeles Olympics Games are scheduled to run from July 14th to July 30th 2028.
While Alamitos Beach in Long Beach was originally selected to be the venue of the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim, the venue has now be changed to north of the Belmont PIer where Coastal Rowing will also be held.
Nearby Sport Climbing Target Shooting, Water Polo, and Artistic Swimming will be held inside the Long Beach Convention Center with Team Handball held in the Long Beach Arena. Not too far away, Sailing will be held at Belmont Shore and Canoe Sprint and Rowing will be held at Marine Stadium.

With a morning start times, the venue – completely within the Long Beach Breakwater – should be completely calm with warm 20°-22°C water, making it a super fast rectangular course, favoring the fastest 1500m swimmers with good closing 200m speed.
There is expected to be either no wind or very little wind – and no perceivable tidal flows or wave action. The course should be as tranquil as possible for an open water race in July 2028.
