Big Big Events announced that its 2.5 km Human Rights Day Swim is postponed due to the current wavy and unsafe conditions. “The forecast for tomorrow will make a swimming event in Camps Bay extremely risky and in the interest of all swimmer’s safety, the decision was made to postpone and the request made for the permit to be reissued for March 30th,” says race director Derrick Frazer. “Final confirmation will follow.”

Human Rights Day commemorates the gunning down of demonstrators by police in Sharpeville and aims at promoting respect for human rights, the protection, development and attainment of human rights, and to monitor and assess the observance of human rights in South Africa.
