The Athletic Club of Ioannina Poseidon (AO POSEIDON) focuses on swimming and running in northwestern Greece, about 450 km from Athens.

Its team symbol, Poseidon (Greek: Ποσειδῶν), is one of the 12 Olympian deities of the pantheon in Greek mythology. His main domain is the ocean and called the God of the Sea – an appropriate name for a team.
