Another Great Spot For A Marathon Swim

The Jiaozhou Bay Bridge in China would be a great place for a marathon swim. After four years of construction, the world’s longest bridge over water – 26 miles (42K) – was opened this week. The bridge links China’s eastern port city of Qingdao to Huangdao island and has 5,000 pillars, built by over 10,000 workers, to support the estimated 30,000 cars per day that will use it.

Reportedly, an associated undersea tunnel also opened to traffic. Since the bridge heads to a tourist city with beautiful beaches, having a marathon swim there seems like a reasonable goal.
