Sarangani Bay Invasion is a 15 km open water relay swim from Kamanga Beach in Maasim to Glan as part of the Sarangani Bay Festival in the Philippines.

The professional race was formerly known as the Swim-Across-the-Bay or the Across-the-Bay Open Ocean Swimming Competition where each team consists of 5 swimmers rotating legs across the beautiful Sarangani Bay, competing for cash prizes.

The Dadiangas Torpedoes of General Santos City (Omar Dacera, Ian Cruz, Lawin Dacera, Fritz del Anos and Nikita Dacera) won P50,000 cash (US$1,159) as they crossed in 2 hours 57 minutes.

Second was Sea Lions of Koronadal City in 3:02:52 (receiving P35,000 cash prize or US$811) with third being Davao’s team GenSan View Resort in 3:03:12 (receiving P25,000 cash prize or US$580). All teams that finished received P6,000.

Title translates as “The good thing was that, there were no big waves…” but there was plenty of festivities…
