An International Celebration Of Marathoning Excellence

The 16K Faros Maratón Swim is also the annual Croatian International Long Distance Swimming Championships, and is truly an International celebration of marathon swimming excellence.

1,089 athletes from 42 countries (Albania, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia & Herz, Brazil, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Italy, Macedonia, Malta, Mexico, Montenegro, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Russia, Scotland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, Turkey, the U.S.A. and Wales) have participated in the international event.

In the last few years, Alexander Studzinski of Germany, Mark Warkentin of the USA, Vladimir Dyatchin of Russia have won on the men’s side while Anna Uvarova of Russia, Lindsy Heister of the Netherlands and Angela Maurer of Germany have won the race.
