Along The Farallon Flow, Joe Is A Go

Spread the love

Joe Locke is going to attempt the unprecedented in the Farallon Islands.

Joe will jump into low 50°F (10°C) water flowing out pass the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco Bay to the Farallon Islands, 30 miles to the west of California. Although Stewart Evans and Ted Erikson have swum in the opposite direction and relays have made it along the same course, no single individual has yet made it.

He swam multiple hours in 51 degrees today, but he did not want to get out,” said captain Vito Bialla. “He is definitely locked and loaded. Today, he had Sea Lions escort him; BIG ones a few feet away. We are praying for good weather for his April 6th attempt.”
