On January 18th, English Channel swimmer and Navy SEAL Captain John Doolittle will, once again, swim with his daughter Megan, sons Ryan and Sean, and wife Katie in the 17th annual Tampa Bay Frogman Swim in support of the Navy SEAL Foundation.
The annual 5.6 km swim across Tampa Bay can be chilly in the water and even colder outside, but the charity event a small challenge compared to what the Naval Special Warfare operators endure in their sacrifice for our country. The Tampa Bay Frogman Swim was born out of the need to help one severely injured Navy SEAL in 2010. The event has now evolved to support all wounded and fallen NSW personnel and their families through the work of the Navy SEAL Foundation, consistently rated a top, four-star charity by Charity Navigator. The goal of the Tampa Bay Frogman Swim is to build national awareness of the NSW community and support the Foundation, whose mission is to provide immediate and ongoing support and assistance to the Naval Special Warfare community and their families. Please support our event and the Foundation and help us “never leave a man behind.” God Bless America!!!!
As promised, it is that time of year… please consider digging deep to support our Naval Special Warfare (NSW) Gold Star Families by donating to “Team Doolittle” for our favorite annual event, the Tampa Bay Frogman Swim, which supports the Navy SEAL Foundation.

Link to the donation page, videos, pics, etc: Hundreds of his colleagues, fellow soldiers, and friends also are participating. Glenn Paige, MD is a long-time participant and ambassador. He says, “We will be swimming Tampa Bay Frogman Swim in memory of Rob Guzzo, USN, SEAL. After serving in Ramadi, Rob returned home and struggled with PTSD, ultimately taking his own life in November 2012. His dad Bob Guzzo, USN, SEAL, (ret.) will be our Honorary Team Captain. They have given their all, we can give some. I will match any individual donation up to $5,000 for Team Gratitude 2026.”
Amount of Donations
One of America’s Top 100 Open Water Swims, the Frogman Swim is one of the highest grossing charity swims in the world.
Year after year, the event – with only 150 swimmers – raises over US$1 million, a significant feat for the relatively small number of participants.
