Alexander Studzinski Round And Round He Goes

Alexander Studzinski won the 25 km German National Open Water Championships last week in 5 hours 15 minutes.

We had to go faster than a 5:20 in order to qualify for the European Open Water Swimming Championships. So I had to push a bit right from the start. The course was a 1.25 km loop, so we had to do it 20 times.

After the sixth lap I broke away from the rest of the small field, but after 16 loops, I struggled a bit because I started too fast. But in the end I qualified, and that is what matters.”
