Alex Meyer vs. Valerio Cleri After 24.9K

The amazingly strong sprint finish of the men’s 25K world open water swimming championship between American Alex Meyer (shown on left) and defending 10K and 25K world champion Valerio Cleri of Italy was captured by Etienne Couture from one of the official’s boats. The duo battled each other and the world’s fastest marathon swimmers, including the English Channel world record holder on lac St-Jean.

After over 5 hours and 30 minutes in the water, Etienne‘s video captured the athletes’ supreme effort here.
