Bogusław Ogrodnik (60, Poland, MSF bio here, IISA bio here) is a uniquely motivated, uniquely accomplished adventurer, open water swimmer, lawyer, and mountaineer from Wrocław, Poland.
What Ogrodnik has accomplished is beyond what anyone else has even attempted.
- He completed the Seven Summits in 2006 including summits of Kilimanjaro (5,892m or 19,340 feet) in Africa, Vinson Massif (4,892m or 16,050 feet) in Antarctica, Kosciuszko (2,228m or 7,310 feet) in Australia, Mount Everest (8,848m or 29,035 feet) in Asia, Elbrus (5,642m or 18,510 feet) in Europe, Mount McKinley (6,194m or 20,320 feet) in North America, and Aconcagua (6,962m or 22,841 feet) in South America.
- He is an Iron Iceman after completing an Ice Mile in 35 minutes 49 seconds in 3.90°C water in 2016 in Poland and an Ironman Triathlon in 15 hours 42 minutes in 2021 in Gdynia, Poland.
- He achieved the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming in 2017.

- He is a member of the 24-hour Club with a 34.2 km crossing of Lake Tahoe in 24 hours 34 minutes.
- He has completed six of the seven channels of the Oceans Seven. With today’s successful 21 hour 59 minute crossing of the Molokai Channel, his remaining Oceans Seven challenge is the mighty North Channel. He experienced a DNF between Northern Ireland and Scotland in 2024 and was weathered out earlier this year. He plans to be back to complete the Oceans Seven with a North Channel crossing in 2026.
If successful, Ogrodnik will be the first person in history to complete the Seven Summits and the Oceans Seven.

Along the way, he also founded the Polish Ogrodnik Team and has crossed the Lake Balaton, Alcatraz Island, Lake Tahoe, Gulf of Gdańsk in Poland, Galway Bay in Ireland, Cozumel Channel in Mexico, and the Tampa Bay Marathon Swim. He also competed in the Winter World Swimming Championships in Tyumen, Russia, the 2016 and 2018 Aqua Sphere Ice Swimming Championships, and is the world record holder for denivelation at 9,011 meters – he scaled Mount Everest to 8,848 meters and dove to 163 meters in the Blue Hole in Sinai, Egypt.
Ogrodnik is extreme to the max.
Good luck next year across the North Channel.
