Niek Kloots reported that Donald Uijtenbogaart, a member of the Dutch Masters Swimming Hall of Fame, won the 3K race in Yalta, Ukraine for the sixth consecutive time at the European Masters Swimming Championships this September. Since its introduction in 2001 of the 3K Championships, Donald has won all the European titles in his age-group.

Donald Uijtenbogaart has also won his other European titles in Cadiz, Spain (2009), Bled, Slovenia (2007), Stockholm, Sweden (2005), Pareloup, France (2003) and Palma, Spain (2001).
