Jaime Lomelín Gavaldón (63, Mexico, MSF bio here, @jaimelomelin) completed his sixth successful Oceans Seven channel, crossing the Tsugaru Channel in 10 hours 38 minutes.
As did Michael Payne (23, Australia, @m_payne03) on September 3rd. They have now both completed six Oceans Seven channels – with one more to go. Payne swam in the season’s fastest crossing – and the fastest crossing in several years – in 7 hours 46 minutes on his third attempt, despite rough conditions.
