Initially, Jari Cennet Tammi (66, Sweden, @swim_trek) planned on swimming 9,000 km from Istanbul, Turkey to Cádiz, Spain in the world’s longest stage swim.
His self-sufficient stage swim was estimated to take him over 7 years to complete.
7 years. For 1 swim as he pulls, drags, and carries all his gear behind him using a customized Pro Drybag 100L.
But that plan is no longer. Not long enough for the Swedish adventurer. He is stepping up his game to a 18,500 km stage swim, that may taking him up to 20 years – finishing when he is 86.

He often comes up with pearls of wisdom. “You cannot swim for new horizons until you have courage to lose sight of the shore.”
