The 37th Annual Tahoe Snowfest Polar Bear Swim at Gar Woods Lake Tahoe in California (@garwoodslaketahoe) will be held at 6,229 feet (1,898 meters) altitude on February 28th.
Catherine Turner explains, “It’s cold, exhilarating, and all about fun. Swimmers will take on 250 yards in the 3.8°C waters of Lake Tahoe, earning bragging rights in what we proudly call Tahoe’s largest shrinkage event. Warm-ups start at 1:30 pm, and the swim begins at 2:30 pm, right after the Tahoe City Street Fair. Hundreds of spectators line the pier each year to cheer on the swimmers. Afterward, everyone is invited to Gar Woods Bar to warm up with free appetizers, Wet Woody’s and join our popular raffle.“
Entry forms are available at Gar Woods or on www.garwoods.com.
