
The Dalmatinski kup (Dalmatian Cup of Long-Distance Swimming) is a series of competitions that includes 13 races held in 4 Dalmatian counties over one season (Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia). In 2025, approximately 250 swimmers competing in distances between 2 km and 5 km.
Toni Pavičić Donkić (56, Croatia, MSF bio here) representing Faros Sport outpointed all his younger competitors in the Dalmatinski kup, finishing in the top 3 in 8 of the 9 races.
He has had quite a career in the open water, first competing in the professional 16 km Faros Marathon Swim in his native Croatia at the age of 14 – and then continued to participate until the age of 51. Along the way, he also completed a 25 km solo Beltquerung swim in the Baltic Sea between Denmark and Germany, a 9 hour 45 minute crossing of the English Channel, a 3 hour 9 minute crossing of the Strait of Gibraltar, and a victory in the 2005 26.4 km Lake Zurich Marathon Swim in 6 hours 41 minutes.
